Gymnastics Coach in Training

Participants will learn class management skills, proper spotting techniques, and drills and progressions needed to begin teaching basic gymnastics. CITs will work one-on-one with experienced coaches to develop their leadership skills and knowledge of the sport through class shadowing, group workshops, USA Gymnastics training programs, and performance evaluations and feedback. Through weekly evaluations and feedback from coaches and senior staff, participants will reflect on their strengths and areas of growth. Participants must complete three mandatory workshops on May 28, June 4, and June 6 before receiving their summer volunteer schedule. Volunteers are expected to participate in the program Monday through Friday for 2-3 hours each day for the entirety of each 3-week gymnastics camp session. Participants must have a minimum 1-year experience in advanced beginning gymnastics classes or higher to enroll.
