Flip the Script: The Young Choreographers Project
It’s a switch up! The dancers of The Evanston Dance Ensemble have stepped into the role of choreographer in our biennial production of The Young Choreographers Project. The next generation of dance makers is taking the stage and we’re thinking Who’s in charge here!?
Artistic Director Enid Smith and Assistant to the Director Macala Bartucci welcome guest artists Zach Bird and Joey Castillo who are rounding out our team as we celebrate these young creative voices.

The Evanston Dance Ensemble (EDE), the resident youth company of Dance Center Evanston, brings together talented young dancers and professional choreographers to create imaginative, original performances. Founded in 1997 by Béa Rashid, EDE is known for its creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. Each season features innovative productions, outreach programs like Jump for Joy, and opportunities for dancers to choreograph their own work. EDE’s middle school company, ede2, brings performances to community and underserved venues—sharing the joy and power of dance with audiences of all ages. Learn more at evanstondanceensemble.org.
