Adolescent Art Therapy Group: HeARTS

Institute for Therapy through the Arts (Creative Arts Therapy) ita

Group members will demonstrate new ways of interacting with art materials in order to facilitate creativity, connection to self and connection to their school community. Students will also identify current emotions, healthy coping skills, supports, and future goals and needs. The art therapy environment aims to be a positive space where moments of healing and growth can occur at the pace of each student. Art therapy may include art product creation for coping, sensory regulation, or recreation (jewelry making, knitting, etc.), interactive collage and mosaic work, 3D clay work, or 2D painting and drawing for self-exploration (enhance dialogue amongst the group and self-expression).
