Trailblazers I - Paddling Session 3

PLEASE READ: An eLEAP pledge to Camp Echo does not guarantee a spot in camp. If you have not secured a spot in the Camp Echo Early Registration Lottery, please attempt to secure a spot in the Jan 6th Open Enrollment, which is first come first serve. If a program is full and you pledge eLEAP money to it, you will be placed on the waitlist.

Rising 7th and 8th graders who are ready to take their love of the wilderness to the next level can join this introduction to Camp Echo’s Adventure Trip Program. During the first week, campers will stay at Camp Echo and follow the Traditional Camp schedule, participate in camp activities, or “camptivities,” and build a foundation of wilderness and trip skills with free choice times.

In the second week, campers go on a 3-night, 4-day backpacking or paddling excursion in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Depending on the session, campers will either participate in a paddling exploration of the Upper Manistee River or will experience the wonders of backpacking either North or South Manitou Island.
